Artist in the Spotlight

Jennifer Myers Kirton

For Jennifer, the world is full of moments in time, the colors and textures of which she captures in the precision of pen and ink, using a technique called stippling, or drawing with dots.

Over a 30-year career she has garnered praise and awards from collectors throughout the U.S. and Europe. And wherever her art goes, she sends a little piece of her corner of the world.

“I was raised in Florida and it bothers me to see them paving areas that I grew up in, she said. “So I want to stop people. I want to make them for a brief moment stop and say wow this moment in nature is important.”

Sometimes someone will say ‘I love the red in that rose,’ but I drew it in black and white. They filled the color in on their own. And that’s when I know I’ve been successful.
